デザインには、もう一度「身体」が必要です。AIが画面の中の仕事をますます引き受けるようになるなか、私たちデザイナーは、自分たちの仕事の素材であるはずの「リアルな場所、リアルな人、リアルな会話」から離れつつあります。「Design Retreat in Ishikawa」は、石川県加賀市を舞台にした5日間のフィールドリトリートです。
Design needs a body again. As AI takes over more of our screens, designers risk losing touch with the raw material of our craft: real places, real people, real conversations. "Design Retreat in Ishikawa" is a 5-day field retreat set in Kaga City, Ishikawa Prefecture.

Why Ishikawa Prefecture?
36の伝統工芸が今も息づき、ユネスコ創造都市にも認定された石川県は、日本で最もデザインの地層が厚い地域のひとつです。今回は石川県加賀市の山中温泉エリアを拠点に、上質な宿・食を楽しみつつ、九谷焼や山中漆器などに代表される伝統工芸のクラフトマンシップやカルチャー、それに紐づくビジネスを学べる環境をご用意しました。
With 36 traditional crafts still thriving and UNESCO Creative City designation, Ishikawa is one of Japan's richest regions in design heritage. We've chosen the Yamanaka Onsen area in Kaga City as our home base — offering premium accommodation and cuisine while providing opportunities to learn about the craftsmanship and culture of traditional crafts such as Kutani ware and Yamanaka lacquerware, as well as the businesses built around them.

参加者同士の交流セッションや地元の文化体験などを予定していますが、ご希望に応じて自由時間を多めに確保できる柔軟なスケジュールを計画しています。
We will be planning mingling sessions amongst the participants, local cultural activities, but also will provide the flexibility to plan more free time on your own if you wish.

河鹿荘（山中温泉）
Kajikaso, Yamanaka Onsen
森と大聖寺川に抱かれるように佇む河鹿荘は、1,300年以上の歴史を持つ加賀の名湯・山中温泉の中心に位置しています。
Tucked between the forest and the Daishoji River, Kajikaso sits in the heart of Yamanaka Onsen — one of Kaga's historic hot spring towns, with a history stretching back more than 1,300 years.
朝は川のせせらぎとともに始まり、夜は温泉でゆっくりと一日を締めくくる。その合間、河鹿荘はリトリートの「我が家」になります。食事や語らいを分かち合い、静かな一角を見つけ、あるいはただゆっくりと流れる時間に身をゆだねる。川を望む露天風呂と、窓の向こうに広がる自然。ここに滞在すること自体が、この体験の大切な一部です。日常から少し離れ、数日間だけ違うリズムに身を置いてみてください。
Mornings begin by the river and evenings wind down in the onsen. Between them, Kajikaso becomes our home for the retreat: a place to share meals and conversations, find a quiet corner, or simply let the day unfold at a slower pace. With open-air baths overlooking the river and nature just beyond the window, staying here is very much part of the experience — a chance to step away from the everyday and settle into a different rhythm for a few days.
